Bernardo Chua went to the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree. He first worked as a purchasing manager at his family’s manufacturing plant with his 13 siblings. He decided to leave the business and manage a travel agency. He was later given an opportunity to manage a direct selling company in the Philippines. He then worked at Gano Excel in Canada as an executive. He helped the company expand to Hong Kong and the United States within three years.
He moved to California to become the president of Gano Excel U.S.A. After the company had many issues, Bernardo was interested in leaving and starting his own company. He founded Organo Gold with Shane Morand in 2008. It is comprised of a group of companies. Shane supervises the direct selling efforts and Dr. Irma Prado is the chief medical consultant of the board. The herb ganoderma lucidum has antiviral qualities and has been claimed to help control cholesterol. The company’s estimated revenues were $35 million in 2010 according to the website Business for Home.
