The Chainsmokers are the new big band that is on top of the world as of 2018. They have won multiple rewards for numerous hit singles that have reached within the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. One of their singles, “Closer“, even went on to become a number one hit single on the chart! Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart make up the band as an American DJ and production duo. They began working together in 2012 and they had their first live performance by 2013. As time has progressed, the band has only improved and gained more publicity and listeners.
As the Chainsmokers topped the Billboard Dance 100, they expressed their internal gratitude to all their fans and those who have helped them become the duo they are today. It seems as if the band continues to impress their fans more each year with new and unique sounds of music. In January, the Chainsmokers started off 2018 with their song ‘Sick Boy’ that featured live instrumentation and Drew Taggart’s vocals. This song proved that the Chainsmokers can create all types of different musical sounds to appeal to old as well as new fans. February, March, and April all followed with hit singles from the Chainsmokers as well which helped create a world of curiosity and excitement as to what the band will bring out next.
To create the sound on their song “Somebody”, they used mostly synth work and pitched-up vocal samples. The Chainsmokers use a special synth operated by a keyboard to make the piano-like sounds and pitches. Then all the instrumentation and vocals are taken to a special music software to be edited. They take time to mix and edit all the components together to create the sound they are looking for. By the end of production, “Somebody” projects strong, meaningful lyrics blended with beautiful and peaceful instrumentation.
