JD.com or Jingdong is an e-commerce giant and the first time participant in CES. The Jingdong booth is called Delivering the Future of Shopping. This is a showcase of the innovations enabling the biggest retailer in China to provide exceptionally fast deliveries all across China. The booth also shows the retail technology JD.com uses to empower their partners both offline and online. Boundaryless Retail will enable customers to purchase what they want, where they want it virtually, offline and online. This requires advanced retail technology including unmanned vehicles delivering to dense urban areas and a drone delivery network. JD.com uses robotics and AI for a powerful and modern supply chain. On January 6th of 2019, JD.com only had a few days left until they debuted at the biggest consumer electronics show in the world. Jingdong has launched two stations for smart deliveries in Hohhot and Changsha. This strengthens the logistics capabilities of the e-commerce giant. The stations are responsible for personnel training, testing and R&D for last mile delivery issues. The delivery robots from JD.com can be filled with a maximum of thirty parcels prior to automatic delivery within a radius of five kilometers. The vehicles can recognize traffic lights, avoid obstacles and plan routes. The facial recognition technology ensures the parcels can be securely and easily collected by the users. When the delivery stations are operating at full capacity, a maximum of 2,000 packages can be delivered every day.
On November 8th of 2018, the e-commerce giant Jingdong began participating in the run for the International Consumer Electronics Show of 2019. JD.com offered samples of the advanced technology used to change shopping throughout China. JD.com is a global pioneer and the biggest retailer in China. They use advanced technology to fuel e-commerce. Drones are used by the company for the delivery of necessary medical supplies and consumer goods to the remote sections of China. Jingdong uses the first entirely automated e-commerce warehouse in the world. Research is being conducted for underground urban logistics in the future to alternate the way customers make purchases, place orders and receive everything including luxury fashion, fresh food and diapers.
